Seargent First Class Eric C. Johnson


Seargent First Class Johnson was born in McKeesport, Pennsylvania in 1970. He enlisted in the Texas Army National Guard and attend Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri in 1990. SFC Johnson then attended Concordia College, Austin, Texas in 1990 to pursue a teaching degree while serving in the Texas Army National Guard. AFter two years of college, he enlisted with the United States Army in October of 1992 as a Heavy Equipment Operator. SFC Johnson retired from the United States Army in November 2012.


His military education includes: Warrior Leader Course; Advanced Leader Course; Senior Leader Course; Battle Staff Noncommissioned Officer Course; Army Basic Instructor Course, Warrior in Transition Cadre Orientation Course; Master Resiliency Trainer Course; Heavy Equipment Operator Course and Combat Life Saver's Course.


His civilian education includes a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Degree with Columbia College, Class of 2014.


His assignments include: 184th Ordnance Company, Muenster Depot, Germany; Headquarters Support Company and 68th Engineer Company, 46th Engineer Battalion, Fort Polk, Louisiana; Headquarters Support Company, 62nd Engineer Battalion, Fort Hood, Texas; Headquarters Support Company and Alpha Company, 84th Engineer Battalion, Sochfield Barracks, Hawaii; Bravo Company, 577th Engineer Battalion, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri; Alpha Company, Warrior Transition Unit, Medical Command, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri; Forward Support Company, 52nd Engineer Battalion, Fort Carson, Colorado.


His deployments include: Three months in support of Hurricane Mitch Relief in La Cieba, Honduras with the 68th Engineer Company; a six month deployment to Alaska as part of the Joint Alaskan Road Project; two one year tours in Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom with Alpha Company, 84th Engineer Battalion.


His awards and decorations include: the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (6), Army Achievement Medal (3), Army Good Conduct Medal (6), National Defense Service Medal (2), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal; Iraqi Campaign Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (3), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (4), Marksmanship Qualification Badge, Driver Badge and Combat Action Badge.


SFC (Ret) Johnson arrived to Daniel Webster High School in September 2015. He looks forward to serve the community by developing students to be better prepared for life after high school.
